Almond snacks encourage improved diets

A new study suggests that snacking on almonds may encourage people to improve their overall diets. Researchers at Loma Linda University asked people to start incorporating almonds as a daily snack. The participants experienced increases in several important nutrients, and their intake of sodium, sugar and cholesterol fell. The study indicates people may drop less-nutritious snacks from their diets when they added almonds.
